Mark Feiler - Thursday Evenings 6pm - 9pm - Live Figure Painting in Oils
This 10 week course runs from 1 May - 10 July.
In this unique painting the figure from life course, you will have the opportunity of taking the same live pose from drawing to completed oil painting with valuable instruction, demonstrations and feedback by artist, Mark Feiler. The higher cost of the course includes the same live model holding long poses for each of the 3-hour long classes!
The course is most suited to an Intermediate/Advanced skill level, however beginners (with either drawing experience, or experience in a different painting medium/ subject matter, such as landscapes) are also welcome.

Materials
A2 acid free paper
2 x 2B pencils
Kneadable eraser (recommended Faber-Castelle)
Oval wooden palette 38 x 30 x 4 (no white or paper palettes). The traditional kidney shaped palette. For best results rub with linseed oil to provide a repellent surface.
Odourless solvent in a well-sealed jar (please note we cannot accommodate solvent fumes)
Small cotton rags (e.g. cut up t shirts). This is for wiping paint off painting.
Paper towel. This is for cleaning brushes.
Oil paints - Recommend brands Winsor and Newton or Art Spectrum. Do NOT Recommend Winton, Schminke, or Reeves. Recommended colours are Raw Umber, Viridian, Ultramarine blue, Alizarin Crimson, Permanent Rose, Burnt Sienna, Yellow Ochre, Cadmium Yellow, and Titanium White.
Teardrop palette knife size 8
Brushes (long handle only) - Recommended Neef 95 Filbert Stiff Synthetic - 2 x Size 6, Neef 95 Flat Stiff Synthetic - 2 x Size 3, Art Spectrum Series 1500-R Round - 2 x size 2, and Neef Red Series 140 Hogs Hair - 1 x size 8 or 10
Canvas or canvas boards (medium to large sized). Please get a minimum of 40 x 60 cm
Please wear old clothes or an apron as oil painting can be messy.
